Encore Marketing System provides loyalty, review-reply, and text message tools for small retail stores. This page shows exactly how a person opts in to receive text messages. Opting in is voluntary and is never required to buy anything.
Opt-in method 1: In-store sign-up tablet (QR or counter tablet)
At a participating store, the customer enters their own mobile number on a tablet at the counter. Before the number is saved, the customer sees the consent statements below and must check the box to join. The store records the date, time, and exact wording of each consent.

Both boxes start unchecked. The promotional box is optional; a person can join the rewards program without agreeing to promotional messages. A person can still shop without joining.
Opt-in method 2: Website form (merchants)
On our website, merchants can request a consultation. The form has a separate, optional, unchecked box: "I agree to receive text messages from Encore Marketing System about my consultation request and service updates at the mobile number provided. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of any purchase or of receiving a consultation." The page links to the Privacy Policy and Terms.

Promotional messages are sent only to people who checked the optional promotional box. Messages are sent only to people who opted in, and any number that replies STOP is removed from sending right away.
